Pat Sasso has been taking pictures and working with photography for over 30 years. He snapped his first photos as a way to get inspiration for his paintings, but he was immediately hooked on the medium. Sasso began to appreciate the photo on its own merits.

Sasso is a keen observer whose main objective is to capture what he sees as an "inspirational moment in time". Over the years Sasso has experimented with formats and printing techniques but what really influences his photography are mood, light and texture.

"It's my eye as an artist that dictates my photographic style", says Sasso. "For any photo to 'work' I feel that there are a number of factors that have to be just right. When shooting candids the photographer needs to also add the gift of timing. With today's digital technology it's tempting to snap several photos and 'edit out the best ones later', but this is not my style at all. I like to hunt for the right moment and I think you can see the great results."

Sasso strives to interact with, and engage his subjects so he can anticipate that moment in time. Sasso says that, for him, "the best portraits happen when and where my subjects are relaxed and experiencing life."
